Wing cardboard? Can that fly? - RC Groups
Apr 3, 2009 · Plank wings on their own without any stabilisation don't fly very well. And that's not a very good airfoil. Way too much camber, too sharp on the edges and the high point is too far back. I have made wings of cardboard (for conventional looking planes) and they can fly. But cardboard is quite weak and quite heavy.

Jul 6, 2024 · Wing covering will be 80 gsm paper, with 3mm corrugated cardboard for the bulkheads and spars. The rest of the model will be simply the addition of the nose cone, canopy and vertical tail, not too difficult structurally. Covering foam wings light and strong - RC Groups
Jul 2, 2018 · Im building a 40 inch extra 300 with eps Wings and plan to cover them with paper and diluted pva glue. I tried it with regular A4 80g/m² paper, which worked great, but i would like something lighter. Is it ok to use lighter grammage paper or even newspaper with spray paint (i want the wing to be white). Thanks for your replies Ján Švasta
Pizza Box (corrugated cardboard) Planes? Scratchbuild - It Flies!!!
May 12, 2010 · Just cardboard, BBQ skewers, floss, and elmers all purpose white glue. Wing span's a bit restricted because of the size of the pizza box, but it's got a 32.5" wingspan 195 sq in wing area, and AUW is about 14 oz.

Oct 10, 2011 · I have made wings using 1/4" thick fan fold foam (FFF) board as two planks, a top and a bottom. I used square balsa sticks for the leading edge and a strip of balsa for the trailing edge. The trailing edge is normally less than 1/2" wide, but the balsa provides a very good material for hinges that are "cut" in later.
