    One of my favorite hikes is to Lake Mary up at Brighton. It is such a beautiful lake! The trail begins at the Brighton Ski Lodge and the trail goes mostly right under the lift, with a few switchbacks. Near the end of the trail it heads to the right up to the lake. It is a bit steep, but even young children can do it if you take breaks.

    This is a pretty good route if you wanna see all that Brighton has to offer in the summertime. It takes you from lake to lake without any crazy elevation gain. It’s more of a gradual uphill trek, but it is somewhat long for a rookie hiker. Take notice of the mileage (clocked in almost 8 miles), and enjoi if you decide to go for it.

    What to do at Lake Mary?
    Lake Mary is the perfect spot to relax, eat goldfish crackers and look for bugs. Beautiful hike the entire way. Went June 2nd and there was still a ton of snow later in the hike and Lake Catherine was still frozen over. Decent crowd at Lake Mary but very few went on to the other two lakes.

    Soon you will get to picturesque Lake Mary. It is big and beautiful! It looks a little different each time depending on the sky. Some years this hike is best with micro-spikes until after the 4th of July. This is from mid-July 2019. In 2020 and 2021 the snow has melted more quickly, so most of the snow has already melted by mid-June.
