    The Yellow Train on the waves! We took the Yellow Train during our summer family holiday in the Pyrénées-Orientales. We were very surprised by the diversity of landscapes as we went up the valley on this small mountain train line. We took the train at the Villefranche-de-Conflent station and we stopped at Mont-Louis to visit the citadel.

    Today, the Yellow Train is mainly a tourist attraction and transports 400,000 passengers per year. The placement will be free but the wearing of the mask remains obligatory as well as the respect of the barrier gestures.     Is the Yellow train open on Saturday & Sunday?
    All ticket offices on the line will be closed on Saturday and Sunday. The Yellow Train will run from Monday to Friday, with a return trip between Villefranche and Latour de Carol (17301-23006) in order to ensure a minimum of public service during the week. The counters will be kept on the time slot corresponding to the passage of trains.

    Is the Yellow train overrated?
    We embarked on the yellow train climbing through the ancient Pyrenees from Villefranche d Conflent to Font Romeu station. The journey was about one & half hour. The ride provided spectacular views. It was busy & popular trip. We were lucky to have the opportunity as we belonged to a group. I think this train is a little over-rated.
